Webcam Fun

I didn't get a very good shot of Elizabeth AND the computer, but this was the best one. She does very well with it... she interacts a lot with my parents and siblings. She blows kisses, gives high fives, talks back, etc. She even tries to hand them toys and books through the screen. It has been a lot of fun.

It's been awhile...

Sorry! :( I keep meaning to come and post something but life always gets in the way! We have been keeping busy. Elizabeth is such an amazing little walker, and is even running a little bit more lately. Her top left molar has broken through the skin, and she is working on all the others. Poor baby! I think these have been a little tough on her again.

She is also discovering new ways to display her independence. I'm going to have to find a good parenting book tomorrow because I find myself at a complete loss when she acts up. (Seriously... comment or e-mail me book suggestions...) The tiniest thing will set her off and she screams bloody murder. For instance, I was out to lunch today with some friends. I thought I would take her out of her stroller and put her in the high chair to feed her. I thought she would enjoy the change of scenery and being close to the adults. The second I lifted her up she screamed and cried. She didn't want to walk or be held. I put her back in and she was fine. So that's where she ate. But most of the time, it is not that easy... she will scream and I have no clue what made her mad in the first place or what to do about it. It is very embarassing and I hate looking like that mom that has no control over her kid. She was such an easy baby, but now I feel like I am headed for trouble in the toddler era. I obviously try talking to her calmly but she doesn't understand the words yet so that doesn't get us too far (yet). I am hoping that this is maybe just a product of her current environment... learning to walk and getting molars probably cause some extra stimulation and pain, and this month she isn't getting the usual balance of mommy and daddy time.

Well, I should pick up a little bit and then I think I am headed to bed. I have been so exhausted lately.

Oh... almost forgot to mention... we now have a web cam! We have enjoyed talking to my parents and siblings with it a couple times already. It is so neat to see Elizabeth interacting with them through the computer screen. She tries to give them books or toys. haha She also waves, talks, and blows kisses to them. She has also been practicing how to say "grandma" for when she sees both of her grandmas next month.

More of Elizabeth's antics

She likes to push her chair around treating it like a "cart" for whatever she finds around the house.

This is what I see attached to my leg any time I put lip balm on. She wants some, too. Such a big girl already! haha I pat my fingers on her lips, pretending to share with her. She loves to mimick everything mommy does... from getting ready for the day, to cleaning up, loading the dishwasher, etc.

And an antic from Buddy, too... he loves to arrange the pillows to his own liking and take a nap.

House pictures - 2

Our room. We weren't too sure about the dark green color, but we have decided to keep it so far. It has grown on us. LOL I just noticed the curtains are still sitting on the curtain rod holders. That was Kyle being funny. I forgot they were still up there.

Elizabeth's room. This room was already pink with the princess border. We just left it for our own little princess! :)

This is the office, my craft area, and Kyle's Army gear storage area. I definitely still have some work to do here. It WAS bright Georgia red with black trim with a big Georgia symbol in the middle of the wall. I can't believe I forgot to take a picture before we painted. :( We also wanted it a little darker in color but got shy at the paint store. Then when the room was done we did not feel like doing it all over again.
So, there ya have it. We have a little list of things we would like to do with it... I need to get busy on window treatments, touching up paint, replacing or cleaning carpets (oh, what furniture can hide when you are looking at the house before you buy it), but that will come in time I am sure.

Our House

While vacuuming today I remembered I still haven't posted house pictures. Hopefully you don't mind my few clutter spots and unfinished projects! :) I fugured if I waited until everything was perfect you might not ever see these. We do have an extra room I haven't photographed yet. It is the garage that the previous owners closed in. Right now it is full of extra furniture we need to sell or donate and some boxes I am currently sorting through. (About 7 bags of trash gone and still counting...) We would like to use it sort of as a "game room", but we are thinking about painting it and replacing the carpet first.
Here is the listing picture of the front. I figured this one was prettier than the rainy day/brown grass one I could have taken today. Off to the right is a pretty little landscaped area with little statues and a tiny stone bench. The sellers had a larger bench under the tree near that area, but took it with them.
You walk in the front door to a very small walkway with the living room directly ahead and the dining room on your right.

There are french doors leading into the dining room. It isn't anything fancy. I would like to change the window treatment and remove the wallpaper and repaint.

This is part of the kitchen, and our breakfast area. We painted this whole room and added the wine border. We have a small cabinet for coffee/tea supplies and my cookbooks.

More of the kitchen. I like the cute little shutters on the window.

Short walking video

I was just playing around with the video recorder on my cell phone and took a short recording of Elizabeth walking. Enjoy! :)

ETA: Something seems to have happened to the audio during the upload, but it was nothing important... just me talking to her. You might want to turn your speakers down so it doesn't bother you. :)

I'm getting faster!

I just had to take a couple pictures today. I love this little dress. Elizabeth's walking skills have really improved in the last few days. She walks for much longer distances and is a little faster. In fact, she "ran" away from me for a couple steps in church today. Not that that is acceptable behavior (especially in the middle of the sermon!) but I was still surprised to see her do it. She gets cranky if I try to hold her or keep her still for too long. That was a challenge during service this morning. I eventually had to take her out to let her walk up and down the hallway for a minute, then we tried again.

Here is an "I'm concentrating" face. I think she had spotted a toy she was going after. I also thought you could see how much her hair has grown in with this shot.

And here is a picture from the back so you can see the hair there.
