A Week in the Life of Elizabeth

Mommy and Daddy started putting me in this contraption on Monday. I thought it was great fun right away... but then on Friday I finally figured out how high I could jump. It's pretty exciting! I have so many ways of getting mobile now. I scoot around on my bottom using my legs, I scoot around on my tummy using my arms and legs, and now I spin around and jump in this jumper thing. Life is getting more interesting for me all the time!

Mommy's friend Michelle came over on Tuesday to play with me. Well, I think she really came over to scrapbook with mommy, but we did a lot of playing, too. :) I get really excited when she comes over because she is always so nice to me!

On Wednesday, we walked down to "Storytime in the Park" next to our neighborhood office. I got to ride in this nifty hiking backpack. The ride is nice and rhythmic, and I have a cool sun canopy to protect my baby skin. Daddy really liked it, too. We sat on a blanket in the grass and listened to three story books. I got really drowsy on the way back home.

Today, Friday, Mommy and Daddy took me to one of the parks in our neighborhood! This one has cool baby swings for me to play in. I had so much fun. Mommy and Daddy even got on swings on each side of me and we all played together. Buddy came, too, but he just ran around trying to jump up and bark. I like to try to talk to Buddy when we are at home. I am always yelling at him trying to get his attention. Whenever he comes close enough, I like to pet him and see how his fur feels.

The park also has neat slides for me to go down on Daddy's lap!

I have been a lot more vocal the last week or two. I like to say ma ma ma ma ma a whole lot! Sometimes I say things like dada too! Mommy and Daddy are trying to teach me how to say things with my hands, too. Someday soon I will figure it out and tell them what I want with Sign Language!

I hope you enjoyed my update. Talk to you soon! :)

Dear Uncle David

Dear Uncle David,

I am very excited that you are back on American soil! Thank you for serving your country and keeping little ones like me safe from the bad guys. We are very proud of you and all you accomplished! I am so grateful that you are back in the States, and I can't wait to finally meet you.

Love,
Elizabeth

More Pictures

Whose baby is this? ;) I think there is a little of each of us in her, but doesn't she look a LOT like Kyle? I am so in love with this little lady! I think the first couple of months were just so busy... everything was so new, we were trying to figure out how to be good parents, and we were TIRED! But now she is such a joy... she discovers new things all the time, asks to be picked up, makes us smile, and seems to take so much delight in any attention we can give her.

Snack time with daddy! Elizabeth loves her cheerios... and Buddy likes grabbing any of them that she drops! In the second picture, you can see that she is off her play mat. Believe it or not, she started out in front of that little puppy house. She has a way of scooting herself forward while she is sitting up. Hard to believe she is already getting mobile! :)

I love Buddy!

Elizabeth just loves to pet Buddy and try to imitate his sounds. She also comes up with sounds of her own to try to get his attention. It is so cute!

While Elizabeth's favorite American hero will always be her daddy, she should have the chance soon to meet another hero in the family! David should be returning from Iraq very soon. You know how the military is with their "hurry up and wait" schedule, but we know the day is quickly approaching when we get to reunite with him. We are all incredibly excited to have son, brother, friend, and uncle back. :) Please keep him and his buddies in your prayers... we are thankful they were kept safe during their missions in Iraq... and now we pray for a safe homecoming "mission"!

A Spring Cutie

I can't remember if this is carrots or sweet potatoes... either way, it looks like she loves them!

I just can't get over this cute little face! :) Look at those cheeks!!

Elizabeth's Scrapbook

Every once in awhile I get a second to put together a page in Elizabeth's scrapbook. Leisure time sure is hard to come by for a new mommy! :)

Here is the link to pictures of her scrapbook pages. I hope to update it when I finish a page.
